Are you a family who wants to enjoy cycling on marked routes? Are you a club of cyclists who want to train on challenging routes? Whether you are an amateur or a professional, Floréal offers cyclists a warm welcome in its holiday domains in Wallonia and Flanders. Read more.
Do you love cycling? Our holiday domains are equipped to satisfy your passion!
Would you like to enjoy your holiday on two wheels? Floréal has a special place for cyclists in its Belgian resorts. You can come and have a good time with your own equipment, or rent our individual bikes with or without child seats for your cycling trips.
We also have electrically assisted bicycles. Our holiday domains have two-wheelers for hire for the duration of your choice: by the hour, half-day, day or week. 2016 was the year of the bicycle in Wallonia. For this occasion, the Walloon Region has created new quality routes, installed labelled infrastructures and designed events specially dedicated to bicycle and mountain bike enthusiasts! Floréal provides you with all the necessary documentation to follow tailor-made routes, according to the desired length and difficulty.
Our holiday homes are also equipped with lockable bicycle rooms, high-pressure cleaners for the maintenance of bicycles and a technical department for the repair of bicycles. We even adapt our menus to the busy lives of our guest cyclists.
EACH HOLIDAY DOMAIN HAS ITS OWN CYCLING ATTRACTIONS
Each Floréal holiday resort is of particular interest to those who like to get on their bikes and explore the Belgian countryside:
Floréal resort in La-Roche-en-Ardenne
The Ardennes town of La Roche-en-Ardenne is famous for its fabulous cycle races. For almost 20 years now, you can enjoy the Vélomédiane Claudy Criquelion: an annual cyclosportive race with 170 km of course, more than 20 climbs and some 3,300 m of difference in altitude. This race starts in our holiday domain of La Roche-en-Ardenne, to the great pleasure of our residents!
Floréal holiday domain in Mont-Saint-Aubert
Our holiday domain in Mont-Saint-Aubert is constantly occupied by teams of professional and semi-professional cyclists. Why is that? The reason is simple. The city and its region are ideal for a complete and intensive training. Professional cyclists prepare for big races on the many false flats, the steep climbs of the mountains, etc. In these periods of intense sports preparation, our meeting rooms are transformed into massage and treatment rooms, and our classic menus are set aside in favour of protein menus adapted to cycling activity.
Holiday domains on the Belgian side
Our holiday resorts in Blankenberge and Nieuwpoort are also great places for cycling enthusiasts. For example, follow the Genteleroute in Blankenberge: a signposted cycle route through the inland polders and past ancient villages. The many cycle paths and country roads offer a varied view of the beautiful dunes, the rural roads of the flat country and the picturesque villages of the Belgian coast. A historic cycle path called De Frontzate also allows you to reach Nieuwpoort in Diksmuide while enjoying the nature and the historical evidence of the Great War.
FLORÉAL: A GROUP ACTIVELY INVOLVED IN CYCLING
Our group is so committed to cycling that we have our own Floréal cycling team! We sponsor about ten riders in about eighty cycling races a year in Wallonia and Flanders.
