🛠️ How do I prepare my gravel bike and myself for a long ride?
Preparation is essential for a long gravel ride.
- Nutrition: Start with a carbohydrate-rich meal and bring energy bars, fruit, cookies, and isotonic drinks. For longer rides, a mid-ride meal is recommended.
- Bike check & equipment: Check tires, brakes, chain, and lights. Bring spare tires, mini pump, CO₂ cartridges, and a multitool.
- Navigation & safety: A fully charged GPS is required for unmarked routes. Plan lighting for early or late rides and wear a helmet and gloves.
