On holiday in a Covid risk-free holiday resort

Published on: 23-04-2021

Since the appearance of the covid-19 virus, we are much more aware than before of the value of certain things in life. We have had to learn to live with our social contacts limited to our own bubble, but compulsory work at home and school at home also mean that we are constantly within the same walls. And from time to time, these walls seem to suffocate us... Going on holiday is then an activity with which one can recover a lot of energy, even though it has been limited. Fortunately, this restriction has been lifted and we can go to a holiday domain or campsite with our own bubble. Floreal Holidays, owner of several holiday domains and campsites in Belgium, explains what such a holiday is like.

Going on holiday with your own bubble

Finally, nothing is as safe as booking a stay at a campsite or holiday domain in your own country with your own bubble. You can do everything in your own safe bubble: sleep, eat, relax ... without having to use the communal areas, making it as safe as home. Nevertheless, it gives you the opportunity to recharge the battery and look forward to something. This is possible during a week, a midweek, but of course also during a weekend.

A HOLIDAY DOMAIN FOR A RELAXING HOLIDAY

On a holiday domain you can rent your own studio or flat, with a kitchenette or a fully equipped kitchen, so that you can also eat in. The flats also have one or two bedrooms, a dining area, a living room, a bathroom and often a balcony. You can also order a meal and take it away, so you don't always have to cook. In addition, you can of course enjoy all the other benefits with respect to coronavirus that the holiday domain offers. For example, at Floréal you will find a miniature golf course, petanque courts and playgrounds, as well as beautiful nature for even more relaxation in the open air.

GO TO A CAMPSITE TO GET AWAY FROM EVERYTHING

A campsite also offers the possibility of a safe holiday in your own bubble. You can bring your own camping equipment such as a caravan, motorhome or tent, but you can also choose to rent a fully equipped motorhome or rental tent. These also offer the possibility to cook for yourself, but of course you can also take food with you to a campsite for an optimal holiday feeling. At a campsite you always live largely outdoors and you can enjoy the playgrounds, sports fields and plenty of outdoor space to let off steam.

WHAT SHOULD I CHOOSE? A CAMPSITE OR A HOLIDAY DOMAIN, AND WHERE?

In terms of virus safety, the campsite and the holiday park are on the same level. Even if you don't stay in your own caravan, because all rental facilities, studios, flats, mobile homes and rental tents are fully cleaned and disinfected after each occupation. So you can make your choice according to your preferences: a week or a weekend in a flat, or in a mobile home or rental tent on a campsite.

CAMPSITES AND HOLIDAY DOMAINS BY REGION IN BELGIUM

Below is an overview of the different destinations in Belgium.

A holiday by the sea to enjoy the healthy outdoor air

A holiday by the sea gives you the additional opportunity to enjoy refreshing walks on the beach, on the dyke, in the dunes or to take a ride on a barge. For this you can go to the Nieuwpoort holiday domain where you can also plan a trip to the marina, or to the Blankenberge domain which is next to the centre, just behind the dunes.

Holidays on a campsite or in a holiday domain in the Ardennes

If you prefer to venture out into the woods for long walks or adventurous mountain bike rides, the Ardennes are the place for you.

  • In La Roche-en-Ardenne, a picturesque medieval town on the Ourthe, you can choose between a holiday domain and a campsite of the Floréal group. Both are situated directly on the Ourthe, so you can also have fun playing in and around the water.
  • Camping La Colline is situated in the far south of Belgium, close to the French-Luxembourg border in a region also known as the Belgian Provence.
  • Camping Gossaimont is almost at the highest point of our country, close to the Baraque Fraiture and the ski slopes of Lierneux. An ideal place for long walks in the middle of nature.
  • If you are more interested in heathland and forests on sandy ground and long bike rides along the canals, you can stay at camping Het Veen in Sint-Job-in-'t-Goor or camping Kempen in Lichtaart. An ideal setting for recharging the battery and relaxing completely.
  • And finally, there's a cosy holiday domain in Mont-Saint-Aubert, a stone's throw from Tournai.

WHAT IF THE HOLIDAYS CAN'T HAPPEN?

What do I do if I get sick and I have made a reservation or if my holiday at a campsite or holiday domain cannot take place? If the holiday cannot take place due to the corona virus, a solution will of course be sought with the customer. The holiday can then be postponed to a later date.
